Your new companyA growing manufacturing business based in Radstock is looking to appoint a Cost Accountant to join its finance team for 3-6 months.Your new roleAs Cost Accountant, you'll be responsible for monitoring and analysing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate product costing information and supporting month-end reporting processes.Key Responsibilities

  • Producing detailed cost and margin analysis across product lines
    • \n
  • Monitoring material, labour and overhead costs
    • \n
  • Analysing manufacturing variances and investigating performance trends
    • \n
  • Supporting stock accounting and inventory reconciliations
    • \n
  • Maintaining standard costing models and reviewing actual costs against standards
    • \n
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts preparation
    • \n
  • Preparing accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
    • \n
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
    • \n
  • Providing financial insight to production and operations teams
    • \n
  • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reduce waste
    • \n
  • Supporting year-end audit requirements
    • \n
  • Driving continuous improvement across costing and reporting processes
    • \n

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within a Cost Accountant, Management Accountant or Manufacturing Accountant role
    • \n
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • \n
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
    • \n
  • Good understanding of stock accounting and cost analysis
    • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills
    • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with operational teams
    • \n
  • Proactive approach with a focus on process improvement
    • \n
