Junior Utility SurveyorMidlandsUpto £35k basic salaryAbout the RoleWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Utility Surveyor to join our clients growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in Civil Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Infrastructure, or Surveying who is looking to build a long-term career within the industry. No previous utility surveying experience is required. We will provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support to help you develop the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional certifications required to become a successful Utility Surveyor. Working alongside experienced surveyors, you will assist with underground utility mapping and surveying projects across a variety of construction and infrastructure sectors throughout the UK.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Utility Surveyor, you will support senior surveyors and gradually take responsibility for surveying activities, including:\n

- Assisting with utility surveys on a variety of sites across the UK \n
- Learning how to locate and map underground utilities using specialist surveying equipment \n
- Assisting with the collection, recording, and reporting of survey data \n
- Supporting the production of survey reports, drawings, and client deliverables \n
- Following client specifications and industry standards under supervision \n
- Working closely with survey teams to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time \n
- Maintaining effective communication with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders \n
- Assisting with the management and maintenance of survey equipment and vehicles \n
- Following Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and all company Health & Safety procedures \n
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry legislation and best practice, including Health & Safety requirements \n
- Participating in training, development programmes, and industry certification courses \n
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and learning opportunities across the business \n
- Supporting other operational areas of the company as required \n

- Genuine interest in Civil Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Infrastructure, or Surveying \n
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills \n
- Strong work ethic and a reliable approach to work \n
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal \n
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail \n
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications \n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team \n
- Flexible approach to working hours and travelling when required \n
- Full UK Driving Licence \n

- Full on-the-job training from experienced Utility Surveyors \n
- Training in the use of specialist surveying equipment, including:\n
- \n
- Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) \n
- Electromagnetic Location (EML) equipment \n
- GPS and survey-grade positioning equipment \n
\n - Support in achieving industry-recognised surveying qualifications and certifications \n
- Opportunities to progress towards PAS128 utility surveying competency \n
- A structured career pathway within the surveying and geospatial industry \n

- Previous experience within construction, utilities, civils, highways, engineering, or site-based roles \n
- AutoCAD experience or an interest in CAD software \n
- CSCS Card \n
- Any surveying, engineering, or construction-related qualifications \n
- Experience working outdoors or on construction sites \n
