Revenues & Benefits Officers – Civica OpenRevenues

Council Tax Officers | Benefits Officers | NNDR Officers

\n

Venn Group is currently working on behalf of an organisation that is recruiting for multiple experienced Council Tax Officers, Benefits Officers, and NNDR (Business Rates) Officers to support their Revenues and Benefits service.

\n

These opportunities are ideal for professionals with proven experience working within a local government environment and strong working knowledge of the Civica OpenRevenues system.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Council Tax Officers

\n
    \n
  • Administer and maintain accurate Council Tax accounts
    • \n
  • Process changes in circumstances, discounts, exemptions, and reductions
    • \n
  • Deal with billing, recovery, and enforcement activities
    • \n
  • Respond to customer enquiries and correspondence
    • \n
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies
    • \n
\n

Benefits Officers

    \n
  • Assess and process Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims
    • \n
  • Verify evidence and determine entitlement accurately
    • \n
  • Manage changes of circumstances and claims reviews
    • \n
  • Handle customer queries and provide advice on benefits legislation
    • \n
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and productivity
    • \n

NNDR (Business Rates) Officers

\n
    \n
  • Administer and maintain Business Rates accounts
    • \n
  • Process liability changes, relief applications, and exemptions
    • \n
  • Deal with billing, recovery, and account adjustments
    • \n
  • Liaise with ratepayers and internal departments
    • \n
  • Ensure compliance with NNDR legislation and procedures
    • \n

Essential Requirements

    \n
  • Previous experience working within a Local Authority Revenues and Benefits environment
    • \n
  • Strong working knowledge of Civica OpenRevenues
    • \n
  • Experience in either Council Tax, Housing Benefits/Council Tax Reduction, or NNDR administration
    • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • \n
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • \n
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and meet service targets
    • \n
