• Assessment Day: Tuesday 29th July at 10:00am (approximately 1 hour).

• Successful candidates may be invited to a face-to-face second-stage interview.
\n
• The first 9 weeks of training will be based in our Birmingham store, so candidates must be able to commute to Birmingham during this period.
\n
• Enjoy at least one day off every weekend as part of the rota.
\n

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Duty Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy high street convenience store. Catering to a diverse customer base, the store offers a comprehensive range of ambient, fresh and frozen food products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated retail professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a genuine passion for customer service, operational excellence and team development.

Key Responsibilities

You'll take ownership of the daily running of the store, ensuring exceptional standards across all operational areas, including:

• Replenishment of ambient, fresh and frozen stock
\n
• Preparation and cooking of hot food
\n
• Till operations and cash handling procedures
\n
• Receiving and processing deliveries
\n
• Date checking, stock reductions and waste management
\n
• Store cleanliness and housekeeping
\n
• Opening and closing the store as a key holder
\n

You will also:

• Ensure efficient stock control, storage, rotation and loss prevention practices.
\n
• Maintain excellent product availability and presentation standards.
\n
• Deliver promotional activity and strong visual merchandising.
\n
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety regulations.
\n

Team Management

\n
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of store colleagues.
\n
• Create a positive, high-performing working environment.
\n
• Manage staff rotas to ensure effective store coverage.
\n
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
\n
• Handle employee relations matters professionally and fairly.
\n

About You

• Previous retail management or supervisory experience, ideally within convenience, food retail or FMCG environments.
