Job Description

We’re currently working with a well-established, family-run business based near Ripon, North Yorkshire, operating within the agricultural sector, that is looking to recruit an experienced and organised Administrator to join their small, friendly office team on a part-time basis. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to support the day-to-day running of the business, working closely with the Office Manager across a range of administrative duties.

This position would suit someone who enjoys a diverse workload, has excellent organisational skills and is comfortable working within a farming or agricultural environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring data is kept up to date
  • \n
  • Supporting compliance administration and record keeping
  • \n
  • Coordinating haulage and transport arrangements
  • \n
  • Processing invoices and preparing reports
  • \n
  • Providing administrative support across operational areas of the business
  • \n
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries
  • \n
  • Liaising with suppliers and external contacts
  • \n

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous administration experience
  • \n
  • Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • \n
  • Is confident using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • \n
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills
  • \n
  • Is comfortable working within a rural or agricultural environment
  • \n
  • Has an understanding of livestock or agricultural administration (preferred but not essential)
  • \n
  • Enjoys working as part of a small, close-knit team
  • \n
\n

Due to the rural location, a full driving licence and access to your own transport are essential.

Hours & Benefits:

\n
    \n
  • £14.00–£14.50 per hour, depending on experience
  • \n
  • 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • \n
  • Flexible start and finish times by agreement
  • \n
  • School hours can be accommodated if preferred
  • \n
  • 2–3 days per week, with Thursday and Friday essential, plus an optional third day to suit both parties
