Role: Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker – Residential Childcare

Location: Preston and Surrounding Areas (Bamber Bridge Walton-le-Dale Lostock Hall Leyland Clayton-le-Woods Chorley)

\n

Salary: Up to £38,500 per annum

\n

Hours: 39.2 per week

\n

Shift pattern: 5 week rolling rota - 2 days on, 3 days off

\n

Shift Times: 8am - 10pm followed by a sleep in

\n

Sleep Ins: Approximately 12 sleep ins per month

\n

£55 paid per sleep-in carried out.

Northridge Care Group is recruiting for a Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker to join our children’s residential services. We operate a range of homes supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) as well as learning disabilities (LD) and additional complex needs.

\n

This role involves leading shifts, supporting staff, and delivering high-quality care within a children’s residential home environment.

\n

The Role

\n

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to help lead and support a dedicated care team, ensuring the highest standards of practice are maintained. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a positive and supportive environment for both staff and young people, leading by example and helping the team deliver high-quality, consistent care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead shifts within children’s residential homes (EBD and LD services)
  • \n
  • Support and guide residential support workers on shift
  • \n
  • Deliver high-quality person-centred, trauma-informed care
  • \n
  • Support young people with EBD, learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
  • \n
  • Act as a key worker, implementing care and placement plans
  • \n
  • Promote independence, life skills, and positive outcomes
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and Ofsted standards
  • \n
  • Complete and oversee daily records, incident reports, and care documentation
  • \n
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing residential environment
  • \n

What we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Children & Young People (or equivalent/working towards)
  • \n
  • Residential childcare experience, including supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • \n
  • Experience supervising or leading staff teams in a care environment.
  • \n
  • Resilience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to young people’s rights and development.
  • \n

Training Requirement

\n

All successful candidates will be required to commit to a 2-week onsite training and induction programme before starting shifts. This ensures you are fully prepared to deliver safe, high-quality care in line with our standards.
