From payroll and VAT through to reconciliations and bookkeeping, you'll play a key role in ensuring the finance function runs smoothly.

The Role!

\n

As Assistant Accountant, you'll support the day-to-day finance operations across the business, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

\n

You'll be responsible for:

  • Processing payroll across multiple entities.
  • \n
  • Preparing and submitting RTI returns and pension uploads.
  • \n
  • Managing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring compliance.
  • \n
  • Reconciling bank accounts and maintaining accurate financial records within Xero.
  • \n
  • Reviewing, approving and processing employee expenses.
  • \n
  • Processing supplier invoices and supporting payment runs.
  • \n
  • Supporting the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journals and assisting with reporting.
  • \n
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and wider finance administration.
  • \n
  • Supporting bookkeeping activities across multiple entities.
  • \n
  • Working with finance systems including Xero, BrightPay and Pleo.
  • \n
  • Providing operational finance support across the wider business.
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

\n

You'll enjoy the operational side of finance and be looking for a role where you can remain hands-on across a broad range of finance responsibilities.

\n

You'll come from a strong bookkeeping or transactional finance background and have practical experience managing VAT, payroll and day-to-day finance processes. You're organised, detail-oriented and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
