Senior HR Advisor - ER Specialist
Job Description
Senior HR Advisor – ER Specialist
\nLeeds
\nHybrid
\nFinancial Services
\nAre you an experienced HR Advisor who thrives in the thick of employee relations? Do you enjoy being the go-to expert for managers, resolving issues with confidence, pace and professionalism? If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact in a respected, growing financial organisation, this could be your next move.
\nWhy This Role Stands Out
\nYou’ll join a high-performing HR team that values expertise, collaboration and genuine partnership with the business. This is a hands-on, operationally focused Senior HR Advisor role — perfect for someone who loves ER, problem-solving and supporting managers through real-time people challenges.
\nThis isn’t a project-heavy or strategic HRBP role. It’s about rolling up your sleeves, owning complex cases, and being a trusted advisor day-to-day. You’ll work closely with the HR Manager and play a key role in delivering high-quality, pragmatic HR support across the organisation.
\nHybrid working gives you the flexibility you need, while still being connected to a supportive HR function that invests in your development.
\nWhat You’ll Be Doing
\nYou’ll be the first point of contact for managers across the business, providing expert guidance on a wide range of people matters, including:
\n- \n
- Managing complex ER cases end-to-end — disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, attendance and conduct \n
- Applying strong ACAS knowledge, particularly around complex grievance handling \n
- Supporting restructures, organisational change and consultation processes \n
- Coaching managers to build their confidence and capability in handling people issues \n
- Supporting recruitment activity to ensure timely and effective hiring \n
- Leading on key HR processes such as performance reviews, salary reviews and probation management \n
- Delivering inductions, exit interviews and training sessions \n
- Acting as a subject matter expert for the HRIS (ideally Workday), ensuring accurate and timely updates \n
- Mentoring junior HR colleagues and sharing best practice \n
- Using people data and trends to support improvements and decision-making \n
- Providing pragmatic, commercially aware HR advice that supports business goals \n
This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days look the same — ideal for someone who enjoys being at the heart of operational HR.
\nWhat You’ll Bring
\nWe’re looking for someone who is confident, credible and comfortable working in a dynamic, commercially driven environment. You’ll need:
\n- \n
- Proven experience managing complex and sensitive ER cases independently \n
- Strong generalist HR experience across recruitment, performance, attendance, disciplinary and grievance \n
- CIPD Level 5 \n
- Excellent working knowledge of employment law \n
- Strong influencing, coaching and stakeholder management skills \n
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels \n
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement \n
- High levels of resilience, initiative and accountability \n
- Experience using HR systems \n
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make effective decisions under pressure \n
Why Apply
\n- \n
- A respected financial services organisation with a strong people culture \n
- A supportive HR team that values expertise and continuous development \n
- A role where your ER capability will genuinely make a difference \n
- Hybrid working and a collaborative environment \n
- Opportunities to grow, stretch and develop your HR career \n
