Financial Controller (Xero/Manufacturing)

Mapped Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with a growth, design-led manufacturer and distributor of products across the UK, EMEA and the Middle East. A brand with a global and long-standing presence which, since launching in the UK in 2021, has grown to circa £6 million TO.
\nThe team is now looking to hire a technically strong Financial Controller to join the team to create value not just report it. The successful candidate will be joining a lean, ambitious business reporting directly to the General Manager and supervising one Finance Assistant with support from a fractional CFO.
\nThis role suits a technically strong, self-sufficient finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing- or product-led environment, is comfortable working autonomously, and is happy to take ownership.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\nMonth-End Close
\n- \n
- Lead and own the monthly close process, including all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and journals \n
- Prepare and analyse month-end trial balances, balance sheet analyses and supporting schedules \n
- Manage AP and AR reconciliation, aged item resolution and variance analysis \n
- Oversee fixed asset register, depreciation and periodic physical verification \n
- Reduce close timeframes and improve process accuracy over time \n
- Management Reporting \n
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements for senior leadership \n
- Build and communicate financial budgets; track and report variances against plan \n
- Produce weekly revenue and cash flow forecasts \n
- Provide site/production P&L reports and monthly financial snapshots \n
- Recommend operational improvements to enhance financial performance \n
Business Partnering & Strategy

- Partner closely with the General Manager on cash flow, working capital and capital allocation decisions \n
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable commercial insight \n
- Implement financial strategy, including risk minimisation and opportunity forecasting \n
- Contribute to the company achieving its financial and operational targets \n
Finance Operations & Compliance

- Maintain financial systems, internal controls and accounting compliance with UK regulatory obligations \n
- Coordinate finance activities across departments to deliver on objectives \n
- Manage and mentor the finance team, including the offshore finance function \n
Key Requirements:
\n- \n
- Open to both qualified accountants, ACA, ACCA, CIMA and qualified by experience. My client values the right experience and person over anything else \n
- Xero experience is essential; you must be proficient and able to own the system \n
- Industry experience in manufacturing/product is required for this position (understanding of inventory) \n
- Proven business partnering capability able to translate numbers into decisions for non-finance stakeholders \n
- Comfortable working autonomously in a high growth, lean business environment \n
- Strong month-end (multi-currency) close skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach \n
- Exceptional communication skills and aptitude to work with Exec level stakeholders \n
This role is based in central London, Old Street area, and ideally is office-based, but 4 days in the office and 1 day at home can be considered
