Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Night Shifts)

The Role

\n
• An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a high-precision production environment.
\n
• The role is fully nights and plays a key part in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across site.
\n
• This is a hands-on position suited to an engineer comfortable working autonomously on nights while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across CNC and manufacturing equipment
\n
• Respond to breakdowns and perform fault-finding to minimise downtime
\n
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
\n
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
\n
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures, including isolations and permits
\n
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis
\n

Equipment & Environment

\n
• CNC machinery (lathes, mills, machining centres)
\n
• Automated and semi-automated production equipment
\n
• Precision manufacturing / machining environment
\n

About You

\n
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
\n
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Indentured Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
\n
• Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
\n
• PPM and Breakdown/Reactive maintenance experience
\n
• Experience assembling complex mechanical assemblies.
\n
• Experience optimising processes and procedures to improve output.
\n
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery.
\n
• Experience maintaining CNC and automated machinery
\n
• Comfortable working independently on a night shift
\n
• Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled)
\n
