Field Service Engineer (Electrical)
Job Description
£40,000 – £43,000 (DOE)
\n7.5% variable pay bonus + holiday pay for overtime
\nCar Allowance: £568 per month
\nLocation: Remote - London (max 2 hours’ drive from London, M4 corridor)

\nA leading organisation within the electrical power and energy systems sector is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of critical electrical equipment across UK and Ireland customer sites.
\nThis Field Service Engineer role involves working on complex electrical systems, providing on-site technical support, and ensuring high levels of system reliability and customer satisfaction. The position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong fault-finding skills and experience in field-based service environments.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nCommissioning & Installation
\n- \n
- Carry out installation and commissioning of electrical systems at customer sites \n
- Test and configure equipment in line with technical specifications and site requirements \n
- Ensure all systems are commissioned safely and efficiently \n
- Update internal commissioning and service databases accurately \n
Servicing & Maintenance
\n- \n
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on installed electrical systems \n
- Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance activities \n
- Perform system inspections and ensure optimal equipment performance \n
- Escalate recurring technical issues to engineering support teams \n
- Maintain accurate service records and technical reports \n
Fault Finding & On-Site Support

- Provide expert-level troubleshooting on electrical and power systems \n
- Respond to breakdowns and service requests (including on-call rota after probation) \n
- Ensure rapid resolution of technical issues to minimise downtime \n
- Deliver high-quality on-site engineering support \n
Customer Training & Engagement

- Provide basic operational training to customers on system usage \n
- Deliver technical guidance to end users and distributors \n
- Build strong working relationships with customers and site teams \n
- Support knowledge transfer and technical understanding on-site \n

Requirements
\nExperience
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar electrical engineering role \n
- Strong background in electrical systems, commissioning, or maintenance \n
- Experience working in customer-facing, field-based environments \n
Technical Skills

- Electrical installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis \n
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures \n
- Experience using technical service databases (desirable) \n
