Shunter Class 1

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Wolverhampton area. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 18:00pm start

Location: Wolverhampton, WV4

Pay: £19.17 per hour PAYE

Job Type: Temp to perm

The role:

\n
• Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations – please note that drivers will be required to conduct duties between two other locations close by (WV14 & WV4)
\n
• Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
\n
• Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
\n
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
\n
• Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
\n
• Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
\n
• Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
\n
• Assist with other yard duties as needed.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
\n
• 2 years’ experience required
\n
• Tug experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
\n
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
\n
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
\n
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
\n
• Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
\n
• Excellent communication skills.
\n
• A safety-first mindset.
\n
