Senior People Services Coordinator (12-Month FTC)Start - ASAPCambridge, Hybrid working available ( 3 days on-site) We are seeking an experienced Senior People Services Coordinator to join a People Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to take the next step in their career within a prestigious and purpose-driven organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an exceptional people service, leading a small team and ensuring efficient and customer-focused HR operations. The Opportunity: As Senior People Services Coordinator, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of a high-quality HR service, providing expert guidance and operational support across the full employee lifecycle. Working within a busy and collaborative People Team, they will oversee transactional HR processes, support managers and employees, and contribute to the continuous improvement of people services through the effective use of HR systems and technology.This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact within an organisation that is committed to developing individuals, organisations and society through world-class education and research.Key Responsibilities: \n

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of HR and payroll administration services
  • \n
  • Provide expert first-line HR advice and guidance to employees and managers.
  • \n
  • Support key HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll and policy implementation.
  • \n
  • Manage and develop a small People Services team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR processes and operational efficiency.
  • \n
  • Ensure HR records and systems are maintained accurately and compliantly.
  • \n
  • Support the implementation of HR policies, procedures and best practice.
  • \n
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and deliver an outstanding employee experience.

About the CandidateThe ideal candidate will be an experienced HR Coordinator with a strong operational HR background and a passion for delivering excellent people services.You will possess:\n

  • Previous experience within an HR administration or HR coordination role.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation and how to support employees
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • \n
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach.
  • \n
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent relevant experience.
