\nWe are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller on behalf of one of our valued clients.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a well-established and highly respected organisation, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting financial performance, partnering with operational leaders and driving commercial success.
\nReporting to the Finance Director, you'll lead the finance function for a major operational contract, providing accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and strategic support to senior stakeholders. This is a visible and influential role offering genuine variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to key business initiatives.
\nThe Role
\nAs Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:
\nLeading the day-to-day management of the finance function for a major operational contract.
\nTaking ownership of monthly management accounts, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
\nManaging the end-to-end client payment application process.
\nProducing accurate financial information and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
\nWorking closely with senior operational management to improve financial performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
\nLeading, mentoring and developing the finance team.
\nEnsuring all reporting is completed accurately and within strict deadlines.
\nSupporting strategic business projects and wider finance initiatives.
\nContributing to risk management and continuous improvement across the business.
\nBuilding strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
\nAbout You
\nWe're looking for a confident, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and influencing decision-making.
\n\nYou will have:
\nACA, ACCA or CIMA fully qualified
\nPrevious experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant
\nStrong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
\nContract accounting experience essential
\nExcellent technical accounting knowledge.
\nThe ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
\nStrong leadership and people management skills.
\nExcellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
\nA proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
\nStrong IT skills, including Excel and financial reporting systems.
