Credit Controller

Your new companyA well-established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role has been created to support a significant debt recovery project, with a key focus on reducing aged debt and improving cash collection performance.Your new roleAs a Credit Controller, you will take ownership of a backlog of aged debt, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to recover outstanding balances and minimise overdue accounts.Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a large portfolio of aged debt accounts.
\n
• Proactively chasing outstanding invoices via telephone, email and written correspondence.
\n
• Investigating and resolving customer queries that may be delaying payment.
\n
• Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and customer interactions.
\n
• Producing regular aged debt reports and updates for management.
\n
• Escalating problematic accounts where necessary.
\n
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc credit control duties.
\n

What you'll need to succeed

\n
• Previous experience in a Credit Control position.
\n
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
\n
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills.
\n
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload and prioritise effectively.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
\n
• Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
\n
• Immediate availability preferred.
\n
