Job Description
Location: The Bungalow Children's Home, Sorrel Drive, Eastbourne, BN23 8BHContract: Temporary (6 Weeks)Hours: To be discussed
Job Purpose\nTo prepare, cook, and serve nutritious main meals for children and staff within a residential children's home supporting children with complex needs. The role involves maintaining high standards of food hygiene, managing kitchen supplies, ordering ingredients and stock online, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and compliant with cleaning schedules and food safety regulations.
Essential Requirements\n- \n
- Previous experience in a cooking or catering role. \n
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards. \n
- Experience ordering stock and managing food supplies. \n
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen duties effectively. \n
- Good communication and organisational skills. \n
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding within a children's care setting. \n
- \n
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above). \n
- Enhanced DBS. \n
- Experience working in a children's residential setting, school, care home, or similar environment. \n
