Payroll & HR AdministratorBroughton – Hybrid working. 4 days in the office6 months, potential to be extended.£17.24 Per Hour PAYE / £23.07 Per Hour UmbrellaRole PurposeWork as part of a busy payroll and HR team to accurately process payroll data and provide administrative support. You will be the main point of contact for UK employees, answering payroll questions by phone and online tickets, and drafting official HR documents (e.g., employment references and mortgage letters).Key Responsibilities\n

  • Accurately enter and process payroll data within agreed timelines, including:
  • \n
  • New starter setup (P45s/Declarations), court orders, settlement agreements, and pass scheme/loan deductions.
  • \n
  • One-time payments, allowances (on-call, standby, subsistence), and memberships.
  • \n
  • Process overtime, shift changes, sickness, phased returns to work, and time-saving accounts.
  • \n
  • Answer daily employee payroll queries via telephone and ticketing service.
  • \n
  • Produce official letters (references, mortgage/rental checks, solicitor reports).
  • \n
  • Provide first-line support for the e-pay portal and flexible benefits platform.
  • \n
  • Create mass communications and mail merges for company updates.
  • \n
Requirements & Experience\n
    \n
  • Practical experience entering payroll data and handling pay-related queries.
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of PAYE, statutory pay (SMP, SPP, SSP), student loans, pensions, and standard deductions.
  • \n
  • Experience using payroll software (SAP is a major plus) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail).
  • \n
  • Proven customer service skills (both written and verbal) in a fast-paced office setting.
  • \n
  • Able to work under pressure, manage your own workload, and hit tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • \n
  • Have great attention to detail, strong planning skills, and a logical approach to solving problems.
  • \n
  • Be flexible, collaborative, and always willing to support colleagues to get the payroll across the line.
