Senior Remote Support Engineer (Electro-Mechanical) Watford, Hertfordshire (Office Based – Monday to Friday) Salary: £58,500 - £65,000 + Benefits
\nAn exciting opportunity to build a brand-new technical support function
\nOur client, a leading manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical equipment, is embarking on an exciting period of growth and is creating a brand-new Remote Technical Support Team based at their UK Head Office in Watford.
\nAs part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Remote Support Engineer who will play a pivotal role in establishing the team, supporting engineers across the UK and helping shape future processes and technical standards.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to move into a senior technical position where you’ll combine hands-on engineering knowledge with remote diagnostics, mentoring and problem-solving.
\nThe Role
\nWorking from the Watford office, you will act as the highest level of technical support for both field engineers and customers, diagnosing and resolving complex issues across sophisticated electro-mechanical equipment.
\nYou’ll collaborate with engineering, software and operational teams to ensure faults are resolved quickly while helping develop the capability of a growing support function.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\nProviding advanced remote technical support to field engineers
\nDiagnosing mechanical, electrical and software-related faults
\nSupporting installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance activities
\nEscalating and resolving complex technical issues
\nDeveloping troubleshooting guides and technical documentation
\nCoaching and mentoring junior engineers
\nWorking closely with engineering and product development teams to improve product performance
\nHelping establish best practice within the new support department
\nAbout You
\nWe’re looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and has experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
\nYou’ll ideally have:
\nStrong electro-mechanical engineering experience
\nExcellent electrical fault-finding ability
\nGood mechanical engineering knowledge
\nAn understanding of software, networking and IT systems
\nExperience supporting complex automated equipment
\nExcellent communication skills
\nThe ability to mentor and support other engineers
\nA methodical approach to fault diagnosis
\nCandidates who began their careers in mechanical or electrical engineering before developing software or systems knowledge would be particularly well suited.
