Management Accountant - Interim with potential for perm

Reed Finance is recruiting on behalf of a growing SME in Sunderland seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on an initial temporary basis.

This is a hands-on role with real scope to make an impact quickly. While the position is initially temporary, there is potential for the right individual to be considered for a longer-term or permanent opportunity as the business continues to evolve.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary
\n
• Balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy across the ledger
\n
• Managing accruals and prepayments
\n
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
\n
• Variance analysis and providing insight to support decision-making
\n
• Assisting with month-end close and continuous process improvements
\n
• Liaising with stakeholders across the business to support financial understanding
\n
• Supporting audit requirements where needed
\n

About You

\n
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
\n
• Part-qualified, qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
\n
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with data efficiently
\n
• Confident communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
\n
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment
\n
