Night Shift Warehouse Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced warehouse leader to take ownership of a busy night shift operation, ensuring all warehouse activity is completed safely, accurately and on time. As the senior operational lead on site overnight, you'll drive performance, lead a team of warehouse professionals and ensure the operation is fully prepared for the following day's workload.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse throughout the night shift.
\n
• Manage and support a team of 6-8 Warehouse Operatives and a Night Shift Administrator.
\n
• Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet operational priorities and deadlines.
\n
• Ensure all picking, packing, replenishment and dispatch activities are completed accurately and on time.
\n
• Conduct shift briefings, communicate priorities and maintain team engagement.
\n
• Monitor productivity, quality and service performance against agreed KPIs.
\n
• Investigate and resolve operational issues including stock discrepancies, system problems and equipment failures.
\n
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and operational compliance.
\n
• Manage employee attendance, performance, development and training requirements.
\n
• Ensure accurate shift reporting, documentation and handovers between shifts.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality and operational efficiency.
\n
• Act as the senior point of contact on site throughout the night operation.
\n

Profile

The Successful Candidate:

\n
• Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager or similar operational leadership role.
\n
• Proven experience managing teams within a fast-paced warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
\n
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations including picking, packing, replenishment and dispatch.
\n
• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills.
\n
• Experience managing productivity, quality, attendance and performance.
\n
• Ability to make confident operational decisions with minimal senior management support on site.
\n
• Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Comfortable using warehouse systems and Microsoft Office applications.
\n
• Able and willing to work permanent night shifts.
\n
• Experience of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) would be advantageous.
\n
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation within a warehouse environment is desirable.
