Management Accountant

Your new companyA well-established and reputable business with a strong presence across Shropshire is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team based at its Head Office in Shrewsbury. Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you will play a key role in supporting financial performance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career in management accounts within a successful and growing organisation.Your new roleAs Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process for part of the business. You will be responsible for producing accurate financial information, completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring timely reporting to both internal stakeholders and external manufacturer partners.Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and analysing monthly management accounts
\n
• Completing all balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time
\n
• Managing and monitoring debtors
\n
• Reviewing and reconciling debtor accounts
\n
• Submitting financial reports and results
\n
• Producing financial analysis and supporting management with insights into business performance
\n
• Maintaining financial records using various accounting software packages
\n
• Working closely with colleagues across the finance team to support operational and financial objectives
\n
• Utilising Excel and Power BI reporting tools to assist with reporting and analysis
\n

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience within a management accounting position or assisting with management accounts and be comfortable working independently while managing competing deadlines.You will have:

• A minimum of three years' experience within an accounting or finance role
\n
• Management accounting experience
\n
• Good understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
\n
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
\n
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
\n
• AAT qualification or similar would be desirable but not essential.
\n
• A proactive and organised approach with excellent attention to detail
\n
