\nWe're working with a well-established claimant law firm looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Officer to support its Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP). This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in the day-to-day compliance and risk management activities that keep a busy litigation practice running smoothly.

The Role\nWorking alongside the COLP, you'll play a key part in ensuring the firm continues to meet its regulatory obligations while supporting wider risk management initiatives across the business.
\nYour responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the management of complaints, professional negligence claims, data subject access requests and related matters \n
- Assisting with regulatory compliance and helping identify, monitor and reduce risk across the firm \n
- Carrying out AML and client due diligence checks in line with firm procedures \n
- Maintaining compliance records and central risk registers, including complaints and professional indemnity notifications \n
- Assisting with file audits and compliance reviews \n
- Working closely with internal business support teams on compliance-related projects \n
- Researching regulatory developments and helping implement changes where required \n
- Keeping up to date with changes in legal regulation, compliance requirements and best practice \n
You'll be organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. You'll also be confident communicating with colleagues at all levels, including senior management.
\nWe're looking for someone with:
\n- \n
- At least two years' experience within a litigation environment \n
- Previous experience supporting legal compliance or risk management functions \n
- A good understanding of SRA regulations and the professional standards governing law firms \n
- Knowledge of AML, client due diligence and wider regulatory compliance \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills \n
- Excellent attention to detail and sound organisational skills \n
- Confidence using case management systems (experience with Proclaim would be beneficial) \n
- Housing litigation or housing disrepair experience would be advantageous but isn't essential \n
- Good IT skills and the ability to work across multiple systems \n
