HGV Class 1 Driver – Castle Donington

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Castle Donington. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent ongoing work and long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts

• Thursday to Monday • Start times between 05:00 and 07:00

Rates of Pay

• Weekdays: £17.00 per hour • Saturday: £18.00 per hour • Sunday: £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles completing cross-country runs • Operating curtain-sider trailers and securing loads correctly, including awkward loads • Making timely deliveries to various destinations • Communicating effectively with the transport team • Adhering to company policies, procedures and health and safety regulations • Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and Working Time Directive regulations

Essential Skills

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • Minimum of six months' continuous Class 1 driving experience • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements • No major endorsement codes • Excellent communication and time management skills • Professional and reliable attitude

Desirable Experience

• Experience securing and strapping abnormal loads • Experience manoeuvring within tight delivery depots

Training Provided

• Driving assessment required prior to start • Three-day paid company induction programme • Full industry-related training and ongoing support
