Saw Operative

Elevation Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Saw Setter / Operator to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business within their operations team. You’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient processing of materials through sawing operations, using a range of saws.This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid work ethic, attention to detail, and a strong team-oriented approach.

Saw Setter / Operator

Location: SheffieldHours: Rotating shifts – Mornings & AfternoonsContract: Permanent

• Operating semi-automatic saws in line with the production schedule
\n
• Extracting materials using lifting equipment, including slings, cranes and FLT
\n
• Moving jobs through the system using PDA operations
\n
• Weighing, measuring, and inspecting materials prior to dispatch
\n
• Packing and dispatching goods
\n
• Part marking and deburring cut billets
\n
• Maintaining cleanliness using floor cleaning equipment and general housekeeping
\n
• Managing swarf and ensuring clean handovers at shift changeovers
\n
• Monitoring and reporting maintenance requirements to the Operations Manager
\n
• Managing coolant and blade stock levels
\n
• Supporting other team members and assisting with wider manufacturing duties as required
\n
• Adhering to Health & Safety standards and contributing to a positive working environment
\n

• Previous experience operating band saws
\n
• Overhead crane experience
\n
• FLT licence
\n
• Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
\n
• Computer literate
\n
• Willingness to support with cleaning/maintenance as required
\n
• Previous experience in the metals industry
\n
