Area Co-Ordinator (Maintenance) Reporting To \n

Location \nSouthampton
Working Hours \n37.5 hours per weekMonday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:00pm
The Role \nWe are seeking an experienced Area Co-Ordinator (Maintenance) to support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring maintenance targets and operational standards are achieved within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities, supporting production requirements, improving operational performance, and leading maintenance activities across the department.
Key Responsibilities \n- \n
- Provide holiday and absence cover for the Maintenance Manager when required \n
- Order spare parts required for breakdown repairs \n
- Organise team holiday cover and overtime requirements \n
- Delegate maintenance tasks across the team \n
- Liaise with Production Managers and Supervisors to prioritise repairs \n
- Attend daily operational and management meetings \n
- Maintain KPI data, graphs, and cost control records \n
- Support and manage long-term breakdown issues \n
- Conduct housekeeping audits to maintain high site standards \n
- Support health & safety compliance and risk reduction activities \n
- Work closely with the Quality team to identify and resolve maintenance-related quality issues \n
- Manage consumable stock takes \n
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and initiatives \n
- Escalate issues and concerns in a timely manner \n
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety procedures \n
- Provide support across departments when required \n

- Qualified Engineer \n
- Educated to GCSE level minimum \n
- Previous experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment \n
- Strong communication and leadership skills \n
- Ability to motivate and coordinate teams effectively \n
- Experience working with KPIs, targets, and objectives \n
- Knowledge of reactive and preventative maintenance activities \n
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities \n
- \n
- ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management (or working towards Level 5) \n
- Six Sigma Green Belt \n
- Supervisory or team leadership experience \n
- Health & Safety qualifications or strong working knowledge \n
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations \n
- \n
- Positive and adaptable attitude \n
- Strong team player with excellent relationship-building skills \n
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels \n
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement \n
- Organised and able to work under pressure \n
