Job title: VMware / Omnissa Horizon Engineer - Active SC ClearanceStart date: Flexible, can allow for notice periodDuration: 6-12 months initiallyLocation: Hybrid - Central London (50/50 split)Salary: £380 per day - Inside IR35Standard hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pmOverviewWe are seeking an experienced VMware Horizon VDI Engineer who possesses Active SC Clearance, to join an operational support team responsible for the administration, upgrade, maintenance and ongoing support of a critical VMware Horizon VDI environment (now Omnissa Horizon).This is a hands-on BAU & project role focused on ensuring platform stability, availability and performance within a secure environment, where aside from Omnissa Horizon, VCF and NSX skills are a nice to have.Key Responsibilities\n

  • Administration and support of the Omnissa Horizon VDI platform
  • \n
  • Performing system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes
  • \n
  • Monitoring platform health and investigating issues
  • \n
  • Incident resolution and root cause analysis
  • \n
  • Supporting the ongoing availability and performance of the Horizon VDI environment
  • \n
  • Working closely with infrastructure and support teams to maintain service levels
  • \n
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation where required
  • \n
Essential Skills & Experience\n
    \n
  • Active SC Clearance is essential
  • \n
  • Strong experience administering and supporting VMware/Omnissa Horizon environments
  • \n
  • Experience performing Horizon upgrades and maintenance activities
  • \n
  • Proven background in VMware/Omnissa Horizon BAU support, maintenance, and upgrade activities
  • \n
  • Experience supporting VDI platforms within enterprise environments
  • \n
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • \n
  • Experience working within secure or regulated environments
  • \n
Desirable Skills\n
    \n
  • VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation), NSX, ESXi, and vCenter administration
  • \n
  • Windows Server and Active Directory
  • \n
  • Profile management and end-user computing technologies
  • \n
  • Experience supporting large virtual desktop estates
  • \n
