An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing advanced manufacturing business working on complex metallic products and assemblies.

This NPI Manufacturing Engineer role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and enjoys taking new products from concept through to full production. The successful NPI Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in driving industrialisation activities, improving manufacturability, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through to production ramp-up
  • \n
  • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes for metallic components and assemblies
  • \n
  • Produce manufacturing documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process flows
  • \n
  • Work closely with Design Engineering to improve design for manufacture (DFM) and producibility
  • \n
  • Support project delivery through effective planning, risk management, and milestone tracking
  • \n
  • Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure smooth product industrialisation
  • \n
  • Support PFMEA/DFMEA activities and drive risk mitigation actions during NPI phases
  • \n
  • Liaise with external suppliers regarding tooling and manufacturing support
  • \n
  • Assess manufacturing methods to ensure the most cost-effective production solutions
  • \n
  • Support capital equipment and tooling investment justifications
  • \n
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality and regulatory standards
  • \n
Skills & Experience Required\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within an NPI Manufacturing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineering position
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of the full NPI lifecycle and product industrialisation
  • \n
  • CAD experience with the ability to create and interpret technical drawings
  • \n
  • Experience developing manufacturing sequences for complex assemblies
  • \n
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, PPAP, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • \n
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
  • \n
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a manufacturing environment
  • \n
  • Understanding of fabricated and machined component manufacturing processes
  • \n
  • Experience with welding and non-destructive testing would be advantageous
  • \n
  • Commercial awareness including make vs buy and cost analysis considerations desirable
  • \n
Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
  • \n
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
  • \n
