- Provide technical leadership on complex mechanical design projects including new technologies and product improvements from concept through to release. \n
- Set direction on design approach, lead system-level architecture, and embed engineering best practice across the wider team. \n
- Work closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to deliver robust solutions. \n
- Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. \n
- Lead design reviews, problem-solving activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
- Oversee technical documentation, drawings, and engineering standards to ensure quality and compliance. \n
- Use analysis, modelling, and experimental data to guide design decisions. \n
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to capability building within the team. \n
- Help shape future development plans by contributing ideas for new technology and product improvement. \n
What they're looking for

- A strong background in mechanical design for multi-compnent systems within a complex engineering environment, including system-level architecture, technical strategies and approaches. \n
- Degree-qualified/equivalent industry record in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. \n
- Record of leading technically challenging projects involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines. \n
- Strong understanding of CAD, engineering drawings, tolerance control, and Design for Manufacture/DfX principles. \n
- Confidence in validation, testing, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving. \n
- The ability to influence technical decisions, support others, and communicate effectively at all levels. \n
- Exposure to regulated, high-specification, or precision engineering environments would be advantageous. \n
- A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and delivering practical engineering solutions. \n
