Reed Finance Norwich are seeking a Financial Accountant to lead our clients finance service, including accountancy and exchequer services. This pivotal role involves managing the annual budget, Tax, and overseeing the year-end processes and external audits. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience preparing financial statements and a strong background in managing financial legislative compliance.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead the delivery of the organisations finance services, ensuring compliance with all legislative and accounting codes of practice.
\n
• Manage the setting of the annual budget and Tax.
\n
• Project manage the year-end processes and the closing of annual accounts.
\n
• Coordinate the production and ensure the completeness and quality of external audit papers.
\n
• Act as the primary contact for the organisation regarding the audit function.
\n
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels to support and promote sound financial processes.
\n
• Provide technical support on account issues and impacts to officers, members, and external stakeholders.
\n
• Manage the organisations insurance policy and ensure adequate coverage and efficient claim processing.
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
• Qualified CCAB Accountant.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of Local Government Finance and Accounting.
\n
• Strong understanding of the relevant financial legislation and guidance in respect of Local Government Finance.
\n
• Proficient in the use of IT systems including spreadsheets and financial information systems.
\n
• Excellent communication skills, capable of producing accurate and complex reports.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting pressures to deliver service and corporate objectives.
\n
• Experience in leading and implementing service delivery change.
\n
