CNC Turning Setter Operator
\nLocation: Chelmsford, Essex Salary: DOE + Benefits Full-Time | Permanent
\nThe Opportunity
\nWe are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Turning Setter Operator to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to exact specifications.
\nWe are open to candidates across the UK, with relocation considered for the right individual.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Set up, program, and operate CNC turning machines (including Nakamura and Citizen sliding head lathes) \n
- Manufacture components in line with production plans and customer deadlines \n
- Ensure all parts meet engineering drawings and tight tolerances \n
- Adjust tooling, offsets, and make program edits to optimise performance \n
- Conduct first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring tools \n
- Complete route cards and maintain accurate quality documentation \n
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain efficient production flow \n
- Maintain machine upkeep and a clean, safe working environment \n
What We’re Looking For
\n- \n
- Proven experience as a CNC Turning Setter / Operator \n
- Experience with sliding head lathes (Citizen, Nakamura preferred) \n
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings \n
- Strong inspection skills using tools such as micrometers, verniers, and calipers \n
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality \n
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team \n
