Accounting Manager

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)Department: Accounts & AdvisoryReporting to: Directors / Senior Leadership Team

We are working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading a small team. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services while ensuring excellent client relationships and efficient workflow management. This position offers a genuine blend of technical delivery, client advisory work and team leadership, with strong scope for progression within a growing and supportive environment.

• Manage a portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
\n
• Review statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax computations
\n
• Act as the main point of contact for key clients, providing proactive advice
\n
• Oversee workflow, deadlines and quality control across the accounts team
\n
• Support and develop junior and senior team members through coaching and review
\n
• Identify opportunities for advisory work and additional services
\n
• Liaise with senior leadership on client and technical matters
\n
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures
\n

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience within practice
\n
• Strong background in UK accountancy practice with portfolio management experience
\n
• Confident reviewing accounts, tax returns and management information
\n
• Proven ability to supervise and develop team members
\n
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
\n
• Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple client priorities
\n
