Accounts Semi-Senior

Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Semi-Senior to join our client's growing practice team. The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients, supporting the preparation of accounts and providing high-quality service to businesses across multiple sectors.

This role is ideal for someone with accountancy practice experience who is studying towards a professional qualification and looking to progress their career within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
\n
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
\n
• Support senior staff with client assignments and year-end accounts preparation
\n
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
\n
• Maintain accurate working papers and ensure compliance with accounting standards
\n
• Assist with bookkeeping and cloud accounting support where required
\n
• Prepare corporation tax computations and related schedules
\n
• Meet deadlines and manage workload effectively across multiple assignments
\n
• Support and collaborate with junior team members when required
\n

Requirements

\n
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
\n
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping principles
\n
• Studying towards or part-qualified ACA or ACCA
\n
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
\n

Desirable Skills

\n
• Experience using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or Iris
\n
• Exposure to management accounts and VAT compliance
\n
• Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems
\n
