This company specialises in optimising asset performance across a range of services including motors, gearboxes, pumps, and more. We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a dynamic tool room environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

\n
• Work from engineering drawings or manufacture components based on existing equipment requirements through reverse engineering.
\n
• Set and operate various manual machine tools such as lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal borers to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.
\n
• Understand material properties and applications, and measure and inspect components using a variety of inspection equipment and gauges.
\n
• Maintain accurate records of dimensions, limits, and fits for one-off projects.
\n
• Experience in balancing mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment or operating metal spraying equipment is desirable.
\n
• Ensure all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
\n
• Follow workflow procedures and promote a culture of working safely as routine.
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High school qualifications.
\n
• Engineering apprenticeship.
\n
• On-the-job training provided.
\n
• Experience in a tool room environment or similar setting.
\n
• Familiarity with dynamic balancing equipment and metal spraying equipment is advantageous but not essential.
\n
