Production Accountant

Our client is a global television production house creating specialist content. They have experienced significant growth in recent years and now seek an assistant production accountant to join the team and support the financial and operational controls of their productions. There is a focus on production cost management and cost tracking as well as support across all areas of financial transactions. This role would suit an accountant with some experience within media production who is keen to continue to develop their skills.

Key areas of responsibility will be:

• Maintain and update detailed cost reports, ensuring real-time visibility of actuals, accruals and committed spend.

• Work with the production manager to forecast cost impacts, highlight variances and flag issues.
\n
• Track production expenditure across departments.
\n
• Support the senior production accountant with consolidation of all production costs.
\n
• Work with production management on day-to-day cost monitoring and approvals.
\n
• Oversee crew payroll postings and petty cash.
\n
• Code, review and assign purchase orders, invoices and expenses to correct budget lines.
\n
• Maintain accurate digital filing of invoices.
\n
• Assist with cost consolidation, cashflow updates and final cost reporting.
\n

Candidates will have finance experience from a production background, with an understanding of production budgeting and cost reporting. The role requires strong Excel skills and experience of production management systems (e.g. Octopus PMI) would be advantageous. This is a broad role with an opportunity to continue to develop your skills. It is a full-time position based on-site at their office in Central London.
