Join a well-respected Lloyd’s insurance broker in Southend, known for their commitment to excellent service. We are currently seeking a Broker Backup Technician with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a Lloyd’s broker environment. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to join a successful team.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Produce and process open market slips and assist with binding authorities.
\n
• Create slips/endorsements, cover notes, policy schedules, debit notes, and monthly lineslip declarations.
\n
• Review and process premium and risk bordereaux.
\n
• Produce LPANs and submit work packages.
\n
• Maintain Earned to Incurred spreadsheets.
\n
• Manage Atlas and Lineage systems daily.
\n
• Issue credit notes/EoCs as required.
\n
• Assist with Coverholder applications and audits.
\n
• Calculate and monitor profit commissions.
\n
• Liaise with the claims team on claims issues and reports.
\n
• Track all binder renewals, review performance, and send renewal notices and chasers.
\n
• Chase premium payments.
\n
• Ensure compliance with Procedures and Regulatory requirements.
\n
• Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organised manner and present these to senior management as required.
\n
• Handle Xchanging/Bureau queries and other ad hoc duties.
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a broker backup role within a Lloyd’s broker.
\n
• Part ACII qualification or equivalent is ideal.
\n
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Brokasure, A&S, Atlas, Lineage, DCOM, PPL, AIF, ECF, IMR, and other Lloyd’s/London Market systems.
\n
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.
\n
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
\n
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
\n
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
\n
