Job Title: Robotics Software EngineerLocation: Cheshire (Onsite)Salary: Up to £95k (DOE) We’re partnering with an innovative engineering organisation developing next-generation autonomous robotic systems seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics projects, developing software for autonomous platforms from prototype through to production. You will collaborate closely with software, hardware, mechanical, and AI engineers to deliver robust, real-world solutions.About the Role:\n

- Design, develop, and maintain robotics software using ROS2 \n
- Implement sensor fusion algorithms using LiDAR, IMU, and other onboard sensors. \n
- Develop path planning and path tracking algorithms. \n
- Optimise and test robotics applications on NVIDIA Jetson boards \n
- Intrinsic and extrinsic calibration of sensors, cameras, IMUs, and other perception hardware \n
- Develop and maintain LiDAR processing pipelines, including filtering, segmentation, obstacle detection, point cloud processing \n
- Implement forward and inverse kinematics for robotic platforms and manipulators \n
- Debug embedded communication interfaces including UART, Serial, I2C, SPI, CAN \n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring robotic systems from prototype to production \n
- Test, debug, and validate robotics software in simulation and on real hardware \n
- Document system architecture, calibration procedures, test results, and deployment workflows \n
- \n
- Degree qualified in Robotics, Computer Scient, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field \n
- Experienced in programming in C++ and/or Python \n
- Strong background with ROS2 \n
- Hands-on experience with LiDAR and IMU sensor fusion \n
- Understanding of path planning and motion control \n
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms \n
- Knowledge of robot kinematics including forward and inverse \n
- LiDAR data processing and cloud point library experience such as PCL, Open3D \n
- Familiarity with intrinsic and extrinsic sensor calibration \n
- Experienced with embedded communication protocols including UART, Serial, I2C, SPI, CAN \n
- \n
- Experience with autonomous mobile robots, AMRs, AGVs, drones, or robotic manipulators \n
- Familiar with SLAM, localization, mapping, navigation stacks \n
- Understanding of simulation and visualisation tools Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Rviz \n
- Knowledge of real-time systems and embedded Linux \n
- Experience with GPU-based platforms \n
- Understanding of control algorithms PID, MPC, Pure Pursuit, Stanley Controller \n
