Service Charge Accountant

Are you an experienced Service Charge Accountant looking to join a well-established boutique property management company where your expertise will be genuinely valued?Our client is a respected independent property management company based in Hertfordshire, specialising in the management of residential developments/block management; they are looking to appoint an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their close-knit team.The successful candidate will be ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience, and will have a minimum of five years' relevant service charge accounting experience. The Role Key responsibilities include:\n

• Preparing and finalising year-end accounts, avoiding Section 20b exposure
\n
• Handling accruals, prepayments, and financial reconciliations monthly
\n
• Collaborating with property managers to ensure clean financial reporting
\n
• Producing reconciliations
\n
• Attending internal, client, and auditor meetings to finalise accounts
\n
• Analysing variances and reconciling data from prior or incoming managing agents (New Business)
\n
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting with insight on service charge performance
\n

The successful candidate will have:\n

• ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience.
\n
• A minimum of five years' relevant service charge accounting experience.
\n
• A strong understanding of service charge accounting and RICS/TPI guidelines.
\n
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate financial information to strict deadlines.
\n
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
