Trainee Accountant

Location: Near Blandford

Salary: £25,000 - £26,000 per annum - Full Time Reports To: Senior Accountant / Practice Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Accountant to join our accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career while gaining experience across a variety of clients and industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
\n
• Complete bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns.
\n
• Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
\n
• Maintain accurate financial records and client files.
\n
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and answer basic queries.
\n
• Assist with payroll and other ad hoc accounting tasks as required.
\n

Skills & Experience

\n
• AAT qualified or studying towards AAT
\n
• Good understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
\n
• Strong Excel and IT skills.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
\n
• Previous accountancy practice experience and knowledge of Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks is desirable.
