Salary: £130,000–£150,000 base, plus package (see below)

The Opportunity

\n

A privately owned, multi-entity organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its senior leadership team.

\n

Operating within a complex group structure, the business is undergoing a period of growth, transformation, and strategic development, including acquisition activity and systems modernisation. This is a newly created role offering broad responsibility across both finance and IT.

\n

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance, strengthening controls, and shaping the organisation’s technology landscape.

The Role

Finance

\n
    \n
  • Ownership of consolidated statutory reporting across multiple legal entities
  • \n
  • Lead all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • \n
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisers, and banking partners
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • \n
  • Support senior leadership with corporate activity, including due diligence and integration
  • \n
  • Oversee cash flow, treasury, and working capital optimisation
  • \n
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance function
  • \n

IT

\n
    \n
  • Overall responsibility for IT strategy, infrastructure, and service delivery
  • \n
  • Oversight of core business systems and operational platforms
  • \n
  • Ownership of IT budget and supplier relationships
  • \n
  • Ensure effective data security, risk management, and continuity planning
  • \n
  • Lead system improvement and transformation initiatives
  • \n

Candidate Profile

\n

Essential:

\n
    \n
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • \n
  • Significant post-qualification experience within complex organisations
  • \n
  • Background within a leading accounting practice
  • \n
  • Proven experience in multi-entity consolidation and group reporting
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK statutory and regulatory frameworks
  • \n
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including building and managing teams
  • \n
  • Comfortable operating across both finance and IT
  • \n

  • Experience supporting growth, transformation, or acquisition activity
  • \n
  • Exposure to systems change or technology-enabled business improvement
  • \n
  • Experience within operationally complex or multi-site environments

Package

  • Base salary: £130,000 – £150,000
  • \n
  • Annual bonus: Up to 15%
  • \n
  • Pension: 5% employer contribution
