About the role

We’re looking for a Audit Quality & Transactions Lead to play a key role in driving audit quality and supporting acquisition activity across a growing accountancy group.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role with strong exposure to M&A, audit due diligence, and post-acquisition integration. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders including Partners, Responsible Individuals (RIs), M&A teams, and external advisers helping to shape audit quality and consistency across the business.

The role is internally focused and is non-client facing - your ‘clients’ are the Group’s Audit Partners. No timesheets are required, enabling you to focus on delivering high-quality outcomes rather than time tracking.

What you’ll be doing

Transactions & M&A support

• Lead and support audit and compliance due diligence on acquisitions
\n
• Review audit files, identify risks, and contribute to DD reporting
\n
• Act as a key contact for sellers during due diligence
\n
• Support integration activities, including audit readiness and engagement transfers
\n
• Review RI applications and professional indemnity information
\n

Audit quality & post-completion work

\n
• Conduct audit file reviews across the group
\n
• Track and follow up on post-deal actions and improvements
\n
• Identify recurring themes and translate them into practical guidance and training
\n

Supporting local offices

\n
• Partner with local teams to improve audit quality and consistency
\n
• Contribute to training initiatives and audit leadership development
\n

Technical & process development

\n
• Provide support on audit and UK GAAP queries
\n
• Help develop and improve audit methodology, templates, and systems
\n
• Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into practical business impact
\n

About you

\n
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
\n
• Strong audit background at Manager or Senior Manager level
\n
• Deep understanding of audit quality, compliance, and file review processes
\n
• Confident working with senior stakeholders across multiple teams
\n
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
\n
• Strong report writing and communication skills
\n
• Commercially aware with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
\n

Desirable experience

\n
• Audit quality reviews (hot/cold file reviews)
\n
• Exposure to M&A, due diligence, or integration
\n
• Experience developing training, methodology, or audit guidance
\n
• Background in a multi-office or network firm
\n
