Job Description

Head of Finance Reed Finance are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector for an experienced Head of Finance to join their senior leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business undergoing significant investment and transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead a team of Finance Managers, act as a key business partner to operational stakeholders, and help drive financial performance across a multi-site operation.

The Role

As Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making, improving financial performance, strengthening governance frameworks, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Finance Managers.
  • \n
  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders to deliver business objectives.
  • \n
  • Drive improvements in revenue, profitability, cost efficiency and margins.
  • \n
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
  • \n
  • Support capital investment planning and business case development.
  • \n
  • Maintain strong governance, risk management and financial control frameworks.
  • \n
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and balance sheet integrity.
  • \n
  • Lead audit processes and ensure compliance with financial controls.
  • \n
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.
  • \n
  • Act as Deputy to the Finance Director when required.
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • \n
  • Significant post-qualified experience within a multi-site operational environment.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to develop finance teams.
  • \n
  • Commercially focused with strong analytical and business partnering skills.
  • \n
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of capital planning and business case development.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management, balance sheet governance and financial controls.
  • \n
  • Experience managing audits and compliance activities.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • \n
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
  • \n
