Office / Operations Manager

Financial Divisions
London, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

This is a broad, senior role at the heart of a regulated financial planning firm — one that touches every corner of the business, from compliance and finance through to HR, technology and marketing. If you are an experienced operations professional who thrives on variety, takes genuine pride in getting things right and wants to feel the impact of your work across a whole organisation, this is worth your attention.

\n

Based in EC1A and reporting directly to the Directors, the Operations Manager sits at the centre of this Wealth Management business, bridging strategy and day-to-day execution, ensuring the firm runs smoothly, remains compliant and continues to grow. It is a role that demands someone equally comfortable chairing an Investment Committee meeting in the morning and reviewing payroll or managing a compliance return in the afternoon.

\n

The scope of the role is deliberately wide. On the finance side, you will be responsible for income reconciliation, assisting with management accounts, running monthly payroll, managing P11D compliance, handling introducer payments and overseeing bank reconciliation. In terms of regulation and compliance, you will maintain Appointed Representative status, liaise with the FCA and the firm's compliance consultants, chair both the Investment and Proposition Committees, run adviser one-to-one meetings, manage the T&C scheme, oversee file reviews and handle PII submissions and Chartered renewal. HR sits within your remit too, covering recruitment, employment contracts, the staff handbook, annual reviews and staff incentives. Beyond that, you will oversee IT security, hardware and software management, board meetings, the business plan, marketing activity and the management of third-party relationships and premises.

\n

The right candidate will bring at least 5 years of operations or senior administrative experience in a regulated business, alongside a demonstrable track record of managing small- to medium-sized teams. A degree-level education is expected, and a Level 4 Diploma, PRINCE2 qualification or a recognised accounting qualification would be a real advantage. Strong Excel skills and confidence with back-office financial software are essential. Above all, the firm is looking for someone bright, organised and methodical — someone who brings a positive, hardworking attitude and an instinctive attention to detail.

\n

On completion of probation, the package includes a generous quarterly bonus scheme, private medical and travel insurance through Vitality Health, gym membership with Virgin Active or Pure Gym, an excellent pension and the option to work from home two days a week.
