Company Commercial Solicitor / Head of Department Gloucestershire

Join a well-established Gloucestershire law firm with offices in Stroud and Gloucester in a senior leadership opportunity within a thriving Company Commercial department, offering the chance to shape strategy, develop a high-performing team, and play a central role in the firm’s continued growth.

The role:

This is a key role where you will take ownership of the Company Commercial department.

• Set and deliver the strategic vision for the department
\n
• Lead, mentor and develop a team
\n
• Manage a high-quality caseload including M&A, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, restructures, joint ventures and governance matters
\n
• Act as a trusted advisor to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and high-value commercial clients
\n
• Drive business development activity
\n
• Play a central role in firm-wide strategy
\n

What experience is required:

\n
• Qualified Solicitor circa 8+ years PQE in company commercial or corporate law
\n
• Proven experience managing complex transactional and advisory matters
\n
• Strong track record in business development and generating new client work
\n
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers or legal teams
\n
• Commercially astute with strong strategic and operational thinking skills
\n
• Ambition to take on a senior leadership role and make a significant impact at firm level
\n
