Warehouse Team Leader
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to oversee the day-to day operations of our warehouse while leading a team to achieve productivity, accuracy, and safety targets. This is a physically demanding role that requires an individual who is prepared to work alongside the team, lead by example, and actively participate in warehouse duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, ensuring orders are picked and packed accurately, maintaining inventory standards, and promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
\nLead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives.
\nLead daily shift briefings to communicate objectives, safety updates and priorities.
\nLead by example by actively participating in daily warehouse activities
\nPick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
\nOversee unloading of stock deliveries and check incoming stock against purchase orders.
\nCo-ordinate loading of vehicles ensuring timely dispatch of customer orders.
\nLift, move, and stack boxes and products throughout the working day.
\nAllocate work and monitor team performance to ensure productivity targets are met
\nEnsure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
\nTrain and mentor new and existing team members.
\nConduct regular quality checks to maintain high standards of accuracy.
\nMonitor stock levels and assist with inventory counts.
\nProvide cover and deputise on tasks in the warehouse managers absence – update supplier / logistics portals with key information
\nCommunicate and liaise with transport companies for incoming and outgoing deliveries.
\nLiaise with management regarding operational issues and continuous improvement opportunities.
\n\nPrevious warehouse experience, preferably in a supervisory or team leader role
\nStrong leadership and communication skills
\nExperience in team leadership, conducting performance reviews and addressing performance issues
\nExcellent organisational and time management abilities.
\nAbility to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
\nGood attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
\nExperience using warehouse management systems is desirable.
\nFamiliarity with MS Outlook, Excel, Word.
\nForklift licence – ideally with a Reach Truck but Counterbalance would suffice.
\nCarry out additional duties requested by a member of the management team or as the requirements of the business demand.
\nThis is a physically active role and candidates must be comfortable with:
\nRegular lifting and carrying of boxes and products, which may be of varying weights.
\nStanding and walking for extended periods.
\nFrequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
\nPicking orders throughout the warehouse during each shift
\nWorking in a busy warehouse environment where physical activity forms a significant part of the role.
\n
