Personal Assistant (for 10 year old autistic girl)
Job Description
Are you interested in taking a 10-year-old girl on little trips out, such as Greenlands Farm, Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, Williamson Park, Happy Mount Park, the Prom at Morecambe, Brockholes or the Bird Sanctuary in Preston? We're open to considering any activities. She loves parks, animals and nature, including places like the Pepperpot. On wet days she enjoys the cinema or Jump Rush. She'd always be happy to go swimming too, but if swimming isn't your thing, that's absolutely fine – you'll never be expected to take her.
\nWe live near Williamson Park in Lancaster. It's 100% flexible, and you can do as much or as little as suits you at weekends or during the school holidays, only when it's convenient for you. Ideally, we'd be looking for someone who could take her out at least a couple of times a month during term time, and ideally at least once a week in the school holidays (hopefully more if it suits everyone). You'll ideally have access to a car. We cover petrol and all activity expenses, and wages (National Minimum Wage) are paid monthly through Direct Payments.
\nYou never have to stay out for the full agreed hours. Please feel free to bring her home whenever either of you is ready, even if that's much earlier than planned. We'll always be available and simply want it to be a positive experience for both of you.
\nWe can start small and build things up gradually, or go out together at first until you're both happy for trips to be on your own. This will depend on how well you already know each other.
\nThere may also be the opportunity for some evening work at home if that's of interest.
\nPlease note - ideally you will have a DBS in place and on the update service (but please advise otherwise).
