HGV Technician / HGV MechanicLocation: Bedford (Workshop-based with customer site visits and occasional roadside call-outs)Hours: Tuesday to Friday | 40-hour week | Enjoy a long weekend every week! HGV Technician – Join a Growing Business. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and expanding commercial vehicle business based in Bedford. This is a varied role offering a great mix of workshop-based repairs, customer site visits, and occasional roadside assistance. You'll be working on a wide range of heavy goods vehicles, supporting customers including local authorities, emergency services, and commercial fleet operators. If you're a skilled HGV Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and enjoys solving technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you.The Role Working from a modern, well-equipped workshop in Bedford, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing HGVs to a high standard. The role also includes attending customer sites for planned maintenance and repairs, together with occasional roadside breakdown support.Key Responsibilities\n

- Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs. \n
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults. \n
- Complete MOT preparation and preventative maintenance. \n
- Attend customer premises to carry out servicing and repairs. \n
- Respond to occasional roadside breakdowns when required. \n
- Complete job cards and maintenance documentation accurately. \n
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard. \n
- Maintain excellent levels of customer service at all times. \n

- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician. \n
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. \n
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach. \n
- A full UK driving licence. \n
- A Class 2 (Category C) licence would be advantageous but is not essential. \n
