Job Description
Supervisor – Horticulture, Drainage and Street Cleansing.
\nIndustry: Environmental
\nLocation: Isle of Wight
\nHours: 40 hours per week plus on call Out of Hours on a rota basis
\nDays: 5 days from 7 on a rota basis ( one weekend day worked every other week)
\nDuration: Permanent
\nDuties:
\nSupervise and coordinate operational teams across highways maintenance activities
\nManage programmes of work including grass cutting, tree maintenance, and weed control
\nOversee drainage, street cleansing, and winter maintenance operations
\nAllocate resources and plan daily/weekly workloads
\nRespond to customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution
\nMonitor performance, productivity and safety standards
\nManage costs, order materials and oversee budget-related activities
\nLiaise with subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery
\nCarry out site visits and inspections as required
\nExperience:
\nMust have proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within horticulture or grounds maintenance
\nincluding coordinating operational activities. Experience in highways maintenance, drainage or street cleansing is an advantage.
\nMust have Good organisational and planning skills with Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
\nMust hold a full driving license
\nSalary: £31 - 37,000 per annum, dependent upon experience plus £4,300 car allowance, plus call out premium and over time ( paid at time and a third)
