Whether you're making your first move from practice or already have experience within industry, this role offers genuine career development and exposure to a wide variety of technical accounting matters.What you'll be doingAs the Financial Reporting & Tax Accountant, you'll be involved in a diverse range of responsibilities including:\n

• Preparing annual statutory financial statements and supporting disclosures.
\n
• Assisting with year-end audit activities and liaising with external auditors.
\n
• Supporting corporation tax computations and tax reporting processes.
\n
• Managing VAT returns and ensuring ongoing compliance.
\n
• Assisting with PAYE and employment tax obligations, including annual reporting requirements.
\n
• Working alongside external tax advisers on technical tax matters.
\n
• Monitoring changes in accounting standards and tax legislation, assessing the potential impact on the business.
\n
• Supporting Companies House filing requirements and statutory deadlines.
\n
• Assisting with regulatory reporting, including Gender Pay Gap reporting and other compliance submissions.
\n
• Maintaining tax governance documentation, risk registers and internal controls.
\n
• Identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n

What we're looking forThe successful candidate will ideally have:\n

\n
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be in the final stages of qualification).
\n
• Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting knowledge.
\n
• A good understanding of UK accounting standards.
\n
• Previous exposure to one or more areas of tax, including Corporation Tax, VAT or PAYE.
\n
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research technical accounting issues.
\n
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to explain complex financial matters to non-finance stakeholders.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills.
\n
• A proactive approach with a genuine desire to continue developing technical expertise.
\n
