Management Accountant

Axon Moore are working with a fantastic business in the Rochdale area to appoint a Qualified Accountant. The business has grown to over £30m turnover and now has ambitious plans to grow to £100m over the next five years through a combination of organic growth and acquisition.Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the company's day-to-day and monthly financial accounting activities and become one of the key finance contacts across the business. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the nominal ledger, producing accurate monthly financial information and supporting the business through an exciting period of transformation.Key Responsibilities:\n

• Preparing monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
\n
• Managing the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
\n
• Maintaining the nominal ledger, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
\n
• Managing VAT, payroll and HMRC submissions, ensuring ongoing compliance
\n
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
\n
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and treasury activities
\n
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
\n
• Supporting the statutory accounts preparation and acting as a key contact for external auditors
\n
• Producing financial analysis to support business decision making
\n
• Continuously improving financial controls, reporting processes and documentation
\n
• Playing an active role in the implementation and development of Sage 50, whilst contributing towards the future ERP project.
\n

Personal Attributes:\n

\n
• 3+ years’ experience producing monthly management accounts
\n
• Qualifications such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA are desirable but not essential
\n
• Previous manufacturing experience would be desirable but not essential
\n
• Strong nominal ledger and month-end accounting experience
\n
• Excellent Excel skills and experience using accounting systems, ideally Sage 50
\n
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
\n
• A proactive, practical approach to solving problems
\n
• High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
