Finance Manager
Job Description
Nenebrook Recruitment Group have been engaged by one of our long term clients to assist with the recruitment of a Group Finance Manager.
\n\nA well-established cash positive SME manufacturing business based in Leicestershire with a circa £25m revenue expected growth to £40m in the next 18 months, are seeking to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager on a permanent basis.
\n\nThe role is a permanent full time position based on site in Leicestershire.
\nReporting directly to the CFO, this is a standalone position with full ownership of the finance function across a group of 3 entities.
\n\nThe Finance Manager will lead small finance team and play a crucial role in supporting the CFO. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in resolving discrepancies.
\nThis position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance skills in accounting and administration within a dynamic and evolving business environment.
\n\nResponsibilities

- Full ownership of the month-end process, producing accurate and timely management accounts \n
- Preparation of detailed P&L and balance sheet reports with clear variance analysis and commentary \n
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, working directly with the CFO to support strategic planning and business growth \n
- Ownership and active management of cashflow, including detailed short-term (weekly) and longer-term forecasting \n
- Monitoring working capital closely, ensuring effective cash management across the group \n
- Full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets \n
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation \n
- Direct management of banking relationships, cash positioning and funding requirements \n
- Monitoring aged debt, overseeing credit control and managing customer credit limits \n
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns \n
- Payroll oversight, including review and posting of payroll journals \n
- Acting as the main point of contact for external accountants for year-end and statutory reporting \n
- Identifying financial risks within the business, with responsibility for assessing and mitigating risk across projects and operations \n
- Supporting the board with commercial decision-making, including evaluating project viability, assessing risk vs reward \n
- Reviewing and improving financial processes, controls and systems \n
Candidate Requirements
\n- \n
- Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), or Qualified by Experience (QBE) \n
- Strong experience in cashflow management, forecasting and budgeting in a commercially driven environment \n
- Confident in risk assessment, financial modelling \n
- Experience within manufacturing, contracting or similar project-based environments advantageous \n
- Experience with VAT and CIS desirable but not essential \n
- Comfortable working directly with business owners and external stakeholders \n
- Hands-on, proactive and self-sufficient with a “roll your sleeves up” approach \n
- Strong Excel skills with attention to detail \n
- Able to manage the full finance cycle independently without reliance on a wider team \n
